KID is young director Fien Troch's third feature film. Her debut film SOMEONE ELSE'S HAPPINESS was screened in Toronto, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, and Gothenburg amongst others, and has received awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Actress in Thessaloniki. Her second film UNSPOKEN was shown in Toronto, Rotterdam, and San Sebastian to mention a few and has won Turin's award for Best Leading Actress.

Told through the eyes of Kid, the audience experiences a family tragedy. Seven-year-old Kid can only imagine the background of his single mother’s struggle. When she dies, Kid has to face his fears and the hardships of the world by himself. While still hoping to find his mother, he becomes more and more estranged from his environment.

This film is a simple reminder of what “being a child” really feels like. Kid, though naive and playful, is in the middle of an unfolding tragedy and unwilling to accept losses.
