Production funding for AMID VALLEYS AND MOUNTAINS

The Filmstiftung NRW is funding our feature film AMID VALLEYS AND MOUNTAINS. The movie is a Brazilian co-Production and the second movie by Philippe Barcinski.

With his debut film, Barcinski won over 20 international awards, including the festivals in Sundance and Chicago. The cast, too, is of excellent quality, featuring, among others, Daniel Hendler (Silver Bear 2004) and Sandra Corveloni (Palme d’Or 2008).

Filmstiftung NRW funding for TOUR DU FASO

We are glad to receive production support by our regional fund for our feature documentary TOUR DU FASO. Our project is supported by the newcomer section.

The film of director Wilm Huygen follows three underdogs in Africa's biggest cycling race, which is due to its special conditions a „myth“ among cyclers and fans in the whole world.

FFA Production funding for TOUR DU FASO

We are more than happy about the decision of the german-french funding (FFA/CNC) commission about TOUR DU FASO.

Our cinema documentary is realised together with our french co-producers La Huit.

THE COALMAN goes on air

On the 26.02.2011 the WDR "hier und heute" airs our documentary "THE COALMAN". Very caring director Wilm Huygen portraits the everyday life of one of the last coal merchants in Cologne.

We are hoping for many viewers and wish good entertainment...

NEXT TENANTS in Ophüls competition

After a long and adventurous production the period movie NEXT TENANTS is finally finished. Its premiere will be in the middle length film competition at the Max Ophüls.

This film deals with an important topic of the postwar era, which even today has lost nothing of its relevance to our society: the definition of home and integration.

We congratulate director Marc Metzger and the whole team and are really looking forward to the premiere.

Grant for augenschein

augenschein Filmproduktion has received the 2011 "AV-Gründerzentrum" grant.

The AV-Gründerzentrum supports young producers in NRW through its partners: Filmstiftung NRW, the city of Cologne, the state of Northrhine-Westphalia, Landesanstalt für Medien Nordrhein-Westfalen (LfM), Magic Media Company TV-Produktionsgesellschaft mbH, ecmc European center for media competence GmbH, the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the "Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten" (VFF).

We are very happy and want to express our gratitude to the selection committee.

TOUR DU FASO broadcasted by WDR

The African Tour - a 10-min feature about Africa´s biggest cycle race - will be broadcasted on Monday the 15th of November at 22.45 by WDR sport inside. Director Wilm Huygen and DOP Andreas Köhler just came back from Burkina Faso last week. Besides the 10-min feature for TV they also shot a trailer for our documentary for theatrical release about the TOUR DU FASO. This 90-minute German-French coproduction is currently in financing and will be shot in October 2011.

augenschein wins Phoenix subsidy award

What a pleasant suprise! Developed together with director Wilm Huygen the concept ENDTIMES wins the Phoenix subsidy award - out of over a hundred concepts. The award includes the realization of the project, which will be broadcasted by Phoenix.

Under the chairmanship of WDR director Monika Piel the jury included ZDF director Prof. Markus Schächter, documentary director Prof. Dr. Lutz Hachmeister,actor and documentary director Hannes Jaenicke, documentary director Doris Metz, former head of Filmstiftung NRW Prof. Michael Schmid-Ospach as well as the PHOENIX programm directors Michael Hirz und Christoph Minhoff.
