Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Dern and Noah Jupe cast to play in Sci-Fi Film MORNING

As one of the next big projects, augenschein Filmproduktion is producing the sci-fi drama MORNING together with  Sunny March. Starring Oscar and BAFTA winner Laura Dern (Marriage Story, Little Women, Big Little Lies) and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place I & II, Honey Boy) in Morning. Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Imitation Game) will also play a supporting role and serve as a producer alongside Dern.

The film is set in a near future where society has a pill that abolishes the need for sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is now no end to morning daylight, life and work.

The story follows Cathy (Dern) - an ambitious, driven early advocate of a sleepless world - who, as she heads toward the anniversary of her husband Frank's (played by Cumberbatch) death, tries to repair her relationship with her son Danny (Jupe).

But the sleepless universe Cathy helped build begins to crumble around her, and the arrival of someone from Frank's past stirs up memories Cathy has stubbornly tried to suppress. As Danny drifts further away from his mother and is drawn into a subversive underworld of dreamers, Cathy must confront the nightmares that intrude on her waking life and try to hold on to her son.

MORNING was written by Manchester-born author Sam Steiner, whose script was adapted by Cumberbatch and Adam Ackland's company SunnyMarch.
