BLOODY TENNIS Celebrates World Premiere at Locarno Film Festival

BLOODY TENNIS, the first English-language feature from director Nikias Chryssos, celebrated its world premiere out of competition at the Locarno Film Festival this past Friday.

Sophie joins a prestigious tennis academy, where the brutality of competitive sports is taken to its extreme, and only the hungriest survive.

BLOODY TENNIS stars Sandra Guldberg Kampp, Elina Löwensohn, Helena Zengel, Tracy Gotoas, Lily Taïeb, Lucie Zhang, Vincent Romeo, and Zlatko Burić, with cinematography by Constantin Campean and an original score by Jim Williams.

The premiere was met with a strong response from festival critics. Locarno's own review praised how the film "adeptly manipulates the conventions and tropes of the slasher film".

BLOODY TENNIS is produced by augenschein Filmproduktion in co-production with Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion and ZDF - Das Kleine Fernsehspiel, with support from Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). Shudder acquired the U.S. rights ahead of the premiere, with The Playmaker handling world sales.
